About me

Gabriele Mercanti began his musical training at a young age, starting with the guitar.
He then pursued his education in Composition, first studying piano and composition with Pasquale Lucia, and later at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome, where he earned his diploma in Composition in the class of Alessandro Cusatelli.
He continued his composition studies with Éric Tanguy, obtaining both the Diplôme Supérieur and the Perfectionnement in Composition at the École Normale de Musique de Paris – Alfred Cortot.
In 2023, he completed the postgraduate course in Composition (Corso di Alta Composizione Musicale) at the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna.
His works have been performed in Italy and abroad, and he has been a finalist in international composition competitions, receiving various awards.
In addition to his composition studies, he graduated with honours in Musicology (Master’s Degree) at Sapienza – Università di Roma.
